What to Expect:
When a team comes to visit for the first time, the handler will want to meet with a staff member who can show the team around the facility and explain any details that will assist the team in conducting a positive and safe visit. The team will be willing to meet with people on a one on one basis or will be willing to mingle with a group in a community room. The team will ask for permission to visit from each person before approaching. No one will have to interact with a dog if they don’t want to.
To better serve you. we will want to know the following:
- Who the contact person is
- What type of population the team will be meeting with
- What type of training or background checks will be needed before the team visits
- How often your organization will want the visits to occur
- Whether the visits take place in a group or individual setting
- Any special needs your organization has
