Get Involved
If therapy dog work appeals to you please contact Therapy Dog Connection. We will answer any questions you might have and will introduce you to other people who can help you get started in the journey.
Before getting started though, ask yourself, “Is my dog well-suited for this type of volunteering?” All dog owners know that their dog is uniquely talented and special. However, if your dog is hard to control, has ever bitten, or sometimes growls at strangers, this is not the venue for your pet. Therapy Dogs must be predictable and always safe with all populations of people. This is a lot to ask of anyone! Please be honest with yourself when evaluating your dog. Your dog’s safety and the safety of others’ depends on it.
